Dr. Brian Atkinson – Registered Psychologist

Dr. Atkinson, registered with The College of Psychologists of British Columbia, is a clinician trained in both Developmental Psychology and Neuropsychology. For more than 35 years, he has provided assessment and treatment services which have helped children and adults with a variety of stresses and concerns. His experience allows him to connect to a range of presenting problems including the effects of psychological trauma, difficulties with emotional regulation, family stresses, and problems in child development.

Rhonda Wolkins, M.Ed., M.Sc.- Assessment Specialist

Rhonda has a B.Sc. in Psychology from Acadia University, a M.Sc. in Mental Health Counselling from Bellevue University and M.Ed. in Child and School Psychology from the University of Calgary. Currently a Ph.D. student in clinical psychology with Fielding Graduate University, she specializes in helping individuals who struggle with academic, cognitive, and social-emotional problems. Rhonda is enthusiastic about her profession and eager to assist those in need. Her determination and dedication have led many families to a clear understanding of the issues in solving their problems.

Dr. Donald Hutcheon, C. Psychol. (UK) –
Registered Psychologist

Dr. Hutcheon registered with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia in 1999 and is qualified in the three specialties of clinical psychology, counselling, and industrial organizational psychology.

His practice includes assessment and treatment services for individuals, couples, and groups using a range of treatment strategies. These include cognitive behavioral approaches, mindful awareness, solution-based treatment, and behavior modification. Dr. Hutcheon also assists families using a structural approach.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Hutcheon maintains a balanced lifestyle through involvement with his family and an active participation in sports and recreation.

Cathy Gniwodda – Administrative Assistant

Cathy is the first person you meet when entering the office. She will help in any way she can to make your experience here comfortable. Her extensive work in the medical field for many years allows her to connect to people in need and treat everyone with respect and understanding.

Maureen Toth, B.ED., M.ED. – Assessment Specialist

Maureen has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Victoria with a major in Special Education and a Masters of Education in School Psychology from the University of Calgary. She specializes in helping people who struggle with cognitive, academic, and social-emotional issues. Maureen has worked with children and families in the public school system for nearly 40 years and is passionate about helping people.

Dr. Alan Smitton – Registered Psychologist

Dr. Smitton brings a broad range of experience to the people who come to him for help. A former teacher, school counselor, paramedic and currently registered psychologist, he has provided assistance as a private practitioner, RCMP psychologist and psychologist with Corrections Canada. Alan is committed to bringing all of his professional training and experience to contribute in helping you to overcome your challenges. He is board certified as an expert in traumatic stress.
